Definatly Reason especially if you have £250 to spend.

Fruity Loops (£99) is mainly just a Drum Machine where as Reason (£200)(although i got mine 4 free) is a full on Production Studio and has so much more that you can do with it.

Dont get me wrong fruity loops(You could always download it of kazaa) is a handy piece of software but reason is just so much better.

Sorry for bursting in, but:
Fruity loops isn't just a drum machine! You make your sounds in patterns, true, but now there's the pianoroll, that lets you control notes in a much better way than the step sequenser... It has VSTi support, wich Reason doesn't have, and it can do almost the same exact thing as Reason... It's cheaper, and people who sais that it's much better quality using Reason, are telling you b0ll0x!
It's all about the effects and your creative mind!

yeh but with reaSon you can run it along side other software programs such as cubase so you would use reason to create the sounds and use cubase to edit and arrange the track.

like you can do with Fruity! FL Studio Producer Edition 4.5.x supports the use of ReWire!

Nice to see you holding up the flag for FLStudio TGL, and I have to say, he is right, and I don't even use FLStudio! Trust me, I have heard the results of FLStudio, and they are amazing. See, with music production, it is all about what you are comfortable with. What I would seriously advise is downloading (or borrowing) copies of the software you would like to use, and give them a road test to see which one you 'fit' into. Maybe you will like FLStudio, maybe you will like reason, or Cubase, or well, what ever else you try.

Anyway, yes, my best advice is to test the software you want to use, before you part with your cash.
