Not the sort of answer i thought i would get. DJ software is on the increase sir, especially if you are NOT just a bedroom DJ - Many Top Pro use it along side decks. I'm asking for tips and advise, not what you like to use!!. i dont want to throw money away. Can anyone with dj software knowledge please advise. I have £300 to spend and want to mix on comp and use decks along side. I'm very new to the whole software features thing.

lol Fair point but instead of getting an attitude just remember pc mixing isnt real mixing and if you pc mix your not a real dj Spot on

This is one of the few times that I am going to have to disagree with you, good sir. Spot on

IMHO, the mark of a good DJ is track selection and the ability to move a dancefloor, regardless of the medium that the music is presented on.

If I were to use any sort of live mixing software, it would be Serato or Final Scratch.
I've heard people do some amazing things with Ableton, but the problem for me here is that the physical hands on aspect is eliminated.

That was my personal opinion though mate and i stand by it,my personal opinion is a dj mixing with a pc isnt a real dj.

You have to understand though this is an argument like the vinyl and cd thing, different strokes for different folks but pc mixing doesnt register for me and never will.

pc mixing can look "legit" if you had fancy controllers i guess. but all on all, mixing with a mouse doesnt look all that appealing. i've done it once and people came up to me to see what was goin on. dusnt help wen you use the keyboad shortcuts either coz thenthey realy think your browsing the net or something.

on the other hand if you want i good PCDJ program look into serato or traktor. they seem to be the favourites. check out Ableton too wen u get a chance Spot on
