DJ/Producer Nikos hooks up with Hymn, a sizzling gospel vocal quartet
from Los Angeles for an inspirational anthem for the ages. "’Never
Give Up’" has an upbeat, positive spirit that is emotional, moving and
speaks hope to every one of us. Hymn throws down a storming vocal
performance and Nikos lays a classy, energetic groove that is the
trademark sound of Under My Skin. Nikos talks about the collaboration:
“I think Hymn is writing songs that matter. Blending their ‘street’
sensibilities with a spiritual outlook on life its where urban music
should be. Enjoy some gifted performers singing it from the heart!"
For the flip side, Nikos talks about capturing the essence of prayer:
â€â€™My Secret Place’ is that headspace, where I move in to attempt
communication with God. I am trying to hear from Him, to receive
instruction, to feel the warmth of His presence. I made this specifically for the "heads". Babaled is speaking in tongues, calling the Holly Ghost in a hypnotic, meditative fashion that blends with Donald Hayes' eastern-sounding flute and Vanessa Brown's killer conga groove.
