man with your knowledge you dont dj and you havnt experienced the music in a club?!?!?!
i was the same as you not too long ago. had a wikid understanding of most styles around but mainly the harder styles. i never experienced anything in a club up until last 2 months really. but knowing all that stuff i cudnt see myself not having a spin a the decks man. deff get into it ay!
im thinking of grabbing fruity loops too just for a bit of a muck around. theres heaps of programs out there like CuBase, Ableton Live, Soundforge (i think its called) Reason, Logic, pro tools, digital performer etc etc… its just a matter of finding what suits you most. if you got yourself some VST's and a MIDI controller then teach yourself the basics and go for it man!
same thing when it comes to dj'ing… just grab a decent sort of package and teach yourself the basics

Believe me...if i were 18 i would be down at the big club in Bristol most saturday nights! The club gets huge names playing there. Armin has played 2x in the last year along with Ferry Corsten as well and Judge Jules and Eddie Halliwell. Then on the harder side of things Lisa Lashes and the Tidy Boys have played as well. Now regardless of how good they actually are they are still big names. Also, Aly & Fila & Sean Tyas have also played recently for more modern DJ's.

Thanks for the programs to check out...i will do in short course! I like the FruityL's demo i have as it is relatively simple to use and cheap compared to say Logic, but i will have a hunt around. Aparently though if i ever wanted a track to be signed lables can tell its been done on FLoops becasue the production or something doesnt sound as good Confused im not 100% sure though.

Im not too good on all the terminology...whats "VST's and a MIDI controller"??? and in terms of DJing is thier like packages that you can do it on the computer as all my music i have in on my iTunes.

I will deffers give it a shot a some point (maybe once im off at uni where i will have more free time dance ) becasue i do get little jingles that come into my head from time to time that sound good and when im listening to music some tracks i kinda think "ah, that would be a good opener" or "this could mix well into that"

Mate the knowledge you have for Trance you should start up a site or something, people would learn a lot of what you know lol

And no mate its definetly Progressive i mean, just listen to any A State Of Trance show and its got a good bit of Progressive on it or even check out some of that Discover Dark stuff. I know its popular because of how well the likes of Eddie Halliwell has done but just doesnt float my boat.

Thats cool that you were talking about Progressive. I was just checking becasue i was reading your posts about it being "bland" and i suddenly thought it may be Minimal/neo you were talking about becasue as the name suggests......the music has been stripped right back to nothing really. You are right though...it is very popular. Minimal/Neo is popular with those trying to establish themselves apart form it.

Shocked start a site!!! If you think i actually could that aint a bad idea....i shall investigate.....i would have to call upon other peoples input such as yourself...you know a more than i do about new releases.

I will go have a look now!!!

I have actually made a good start on the site now!!! Its working out quite well. Its pretty simple but it works well becasue of that. I will try and get it done by the end of my summer hols! A discussion page for the site here on Trugroovez would be good though becasue i wont be able to have one on the site i dont think.

You have anything you guys would like to see on the site???

So far i have just made pages for the genres of trance which im going to wirte a bit about, say how you can tell its that genre (i.e make it that genre) and then put some related listening on the bottom. Then i have made a "popular misconceptions" page which is basically saying that steriotypes like "all trance listeners are on drugs" are wrong and finally i ahve a "Sorces" page where im putting links to other good sites.

A history of trance would be a good page though Spot on

That sources thing is smart, on an Oldskool site i was apart of a few years back we had a section called Important Sites To Visit and it had members add sites for maybe free mixes of artist sites etc...was a smart idea that Spot on

You seem to know a lot about different styles of Trance so comering all aspects would be verty handy for simple minded folks like myself Clapping

You might have to give me a hand with that then (the sites to check out). At the moment the sources page its kinda acting like a Bibliography just so everyone knows what i say is not all based upon my own thinking

You cant view it untill I publish it...it just comes up with a "This site is under construction" banner at the moment. I dont know though that if i publish it whether I can still edit it Confused

I shall investigate now....it would be stupid if you cant becasue say you were doing it for a business you might have to change prices and that on the site.

YES YOU CAN!!!! :signlol:

Yep, turns out that you can edit it while its published....have a look and tell me what you think. Bare in mind its very unfinished at the moment!

The link to the site is: http://members.lycos.co.uk/electronicdancemusic/

I will start a thread for it now in the trance section here on trugroovez so as many people as possible can see it and give me some advice

I noticed this is listed on your site *Pearl River - Johnny Shaker Feat. Serial Diva*
Few weeks ago i came across a white label Hard Trance version of this with a different girl singing on it,not as great as the original but still very impressive.

Site is looking well mate Spot on the likes of Wikepedia could also come in handy for the odd bit of info Think
