The Source featuring Candi "You Got The Love".

In 1991, Candi staton was thrust back into the international spotlight as a remix of a bootleg recording of she'd done five years earlier ("you got the love") found its way to the dancefloor. "you got the love" was remixed, again this time by the source‚ and made its way to number one on british dance and pop charts. in response to the positive reception her club hits were garnering, staton released her first non-gospel album in seventeen years in 1999. entitled outside in. the album which billboard magazine proclaimed "brightly shines the spotlight on one of clubland's most soulful singers

Yeah as I understand originally it's by Jamie principle but he got so pissed off with being ripped of by greedy record labels that he destroyed all original recordings. The Frankie knuckles version on Trax records is a remake but as close to the original as you can get.I think it might even have been called 'Waiting on my angel' to begin with and you can get a small taste of it on the 'Jackmater vol 2' double album. The poor guy must have felt like jumping off a tower block when he heard The Source and Candi Staton lol. Laughing
