Time has come for me to get rid of my beloved Vestax as they are getting too old and get some Technics!

My questions are; what is the difference between the 1200's and 1210's? Which is better? Also i've heard the MK2 1210's are the best deck ever made? and is the MK5G just a 'for show' deck or is it actually worth the money?

Cheers Worship

depends wot your guna use them for. alot of guys i speak to that have vestax decks prefer them over the technics… this one guy i met at this thingieo reckons he'd prefer the vestax over the technics… he mixes hip hop and does a lot of scratching too…
personaly i reckon the MK5G's are just a show toy and a 1210 is probably the best buy… but theres nothing wrong with the 1200, same thing different colour wink

Been using the 1200 MK2 for about 16 years now, and I honestly wouldn't want to put my vinyl on anything else.

They are both exactly the same! Just the 1210 is a different color and county.

US version (1200) European version (the 1210).

Having only used 1210 MK5's i wouldnt go to anything else and when i do upgrade them it wll be to the 1210 MK5G's for the extra speed.

Saying that, a mate of mine swears by Stantons and would NEVER use anyhing else and he's amazing on the decks Worship

nice replys here guys cheers. i didn't know 1210's and 1200's were the same! i thought the 1200's were an older model so thanks GJ Cool

Balistik, i feel the same as that guy about my Vestax, they are so much stronger than Technics and you dont have to worry about sensitivity at all you can be a bit rough with them and still keep a good mix. Although im gonna be DJ'n in more bars soon where i live and everywhere uses Technics standard so would be good to get some and get used to them more, who knows i might like them better.

TL, you said speed on the MK5G's im guessing there is a wider pitch range and will i really need that? I mainly mix House so can't see me using that Confused

The MK2's seem the most popular although its quite hard to find some in perfect condition

Mate the MK5G's go all the way up to +16 and yeah i'd never use that speed but there are tunes i'd love to slow down below the -8 and there's a lot of House tunes i'd love to speed up and throw into a Trance mix like Chris Lake stuff and Freemasons stuff Spot on
Now i know speeding a song up to beyond chipmonk speed is a killer but some House tunes without vocals can still work speeded up a bit

Ohh right i see, yea i know what you mean, worth having i suppose. I don't want to spend loads, they will mainly be for bedroom use but don't want old one's that have been ragged about lol

Does anyone know any good websites for some second hand one's, apart from ebay?

cheers
