Mate dont mention Comp's lol we were that snowed under with mixes we never found out the last one! It was impossible to judge cuz there were that many that came from non members and lurkers we couldn't keep up there was that many
I say lets do it though and hopefully the big cheifs will not be put of by the last one,

Over 70 mixes in the end!
As TL said above, the only reason we didnt continue the mix comp was the time it took for us to judge the mixes.
It's a good idea and i think we need a comp running every so often.
I'll look into putting together a 30 min mix comp in January with limited entry of 15 mixes. Thatll get us started.
TL you gonna be a judge this time round? Last time you said you didnt like house. _________________ .

That definitely could work. We could also go for a passworded forum, this area would only be for mix submissions. Accessed via email, limited to 15 mixes. I'll have a good think about it and ill let ya know.
I'm definitely up for starting a new mix comp in the new year. _________________ .

Well i already thought this out a bit, hard to believe i know but yes i did find a few brain cells to think this out
Say for example we get 10 members putting in a mix for this, instead of doing the impossible thing of listening to 4 mixes then we kinda forget what the first one sounded like then we continue to listen further then we get bored...not of the mixes by the way, just of going through them all.
In theory there will be a set time for all members to listen to them and instead of going though them all then judging, we listen to say Balistik's mix then we hit the quote button and number it out of 5 with 5 obviously being the top score. So then all we have to do at say the end of the month of judging is count up all the scores and hey presto...better than just putting up on the forum one name and possibly not giving another the full credit of listening to his or hers mix..get what i mean?
Scored 1 to 5 then members listen to them whenever they get the time and just score the mix, that way they can listen to a mix one day and then another the next day or 2...the scores will tell the story and not just someone saying a name
If that doesnt make sense then your out of luck cuz it just about makes sense to me lol
Thing is...will whoever enters be ok with someone possibly giving their mix a 1 or 2 or 3 I have no problem at all with that so if it'll hurt your feelings then say _________________ Back In Business! |

yeh it sounds better if you get forum members to check em out and rate them. that wud take heaps of time off your hands. like im sure you'd love to sit down n listen to mixes all day tho _________________ "Yeh, I'm a club head. With them only being 30 mins long its not too long for people to sit down and listen to them,i'll listen to them at work cuz it bores me to sit at the pc and listen to music but rating them 1 to 5 is a better idea, means you can rate them right after youv listened to them and your not trying to remember a day or 2 back if they were any good and youv already deleted them.
Hopefully we can get all the regulars to do up a 30 min mix even the radio fellas like A-Jay,Steve RH,Jay H,Keith Johnson etc also _________________ Back In Business! |

I'm also thinking that out of all the entrants including non dj's like Lana, the winner gets his/her winning mix added to the others Myspace pages
The admins im sure can think of a way to do something big for the winner on the forum page like *This Months TruGroovez Top DJ Is...* _________________ Back In Business! |

i reckon it would be a competition more about the respect for each other and each others mixes. promoting the winning mix would be a fair idea also. i guess you could do that by setting up something on myspace where you advertise both the forum and the dj's mixes. but then you may have the occasional few that sign up to the forum and just post their mixes and then not ever coming back. i dont know wot you guys do about people like that _________________ "Yeh, I'm a club head. Those mixes will be removed from the Comp section mate, gotta keep it fair to the proper members ...people entering mixes with say a lower post count than 20 will have their mixes removed.
If we can put in the effort and come on here during the week and weekend then so can they _________________ Back In Business! |

Just going to keep it basic mate and look after the members, one thing that annoyed me personaly last time was there were lurkers and 1 posters adding their mixes and mixes of others...that aint going to happen again
I think that even put me off putting a mix up,infact i dont think i did _________________ Back In Business! |

its a hard one. i think its a positive sign when you get a massive response from the browsers on the forum,. Shows that people are interested. Although, i share the same opinions that it's the regular fourm members that deserve the "air play"
Ill create a mix comp out in the new year that will be good for all

Yeah i know what you mean GJ but we saw the mixes that were added, there's no way in hell the regular dj members on here could have competed with those...those mixes were too professional and clearly from companys.
If lurkers see how fun we can make the comps and how good it goes then why not let them make a few posts before they can add their mixes.
I'm looking forward to this now _________________ Back In Business! |

Any chance of looking into getting the code or whatever its called where you have to actualy make a post before the link of a Dj Mix is available?
Its time we stopped giving lurkers the goods of the site and encouraging them to post _________________ Back In Business! |
