Anyone have one?? Would like one soon as i do a lot of partys in large function rooms, would create a good atmosphere i think Think

Anyway i have been told Martin Magnum is one of the best brands to look at so i was wondering what would be better the 550 or the 650 baring in mind they are basically the same price?

Links:

650 - http://www.djanddiscostuff.com/prodpage.asp?prodid=1982
550 - http://www.phase1live.co.uk/martin-magnum-550-smoke-machine-125-p.asp

I am looking for one that isn't way too expensive but will be good enough to fill large rooms Think

Thanks Smile

Just about any smoke machine can fill a room. It just depends on how long it will take. Usually a medium sized one going off for a few seconds can engulf a club. Not make it impossible to see but make it look like a transparant fog. Very cool when lights go through it and stuff...but you all know this already. Basically, if you are looking at doing large parties (1000-3000 sq ft room) and you wanna fill in most of the place with fog, you may need more than one. The club I play at here once a month is HUGE....

(this is the middle of the dancefloor: )

It has 2 fog machines that shoot out TONS of fog and it only covers the dance floor. It definitely looks sick though.

wow that is massive Shocked so what price am i looking at for a decent smoke machine? yea i do want one that fills a large room quickly i may have to invest and buy a few like you said, would make my money back easily. I was told the cheaper one's spit the smoke out and the heaters in them arent as big is this right? is it worth paying more?

To be honest, I dont really know the answer to that. We had a medium size one (not small and not big) at a party where the room was about 200 sq feet. It accidently went off while we were setting up. No one was near it, it just went off, strange. Anyways, it went off for about 7 to 10 seconds before someone ran over and turned it off. What was neat about it was that the smoke settled at about 4 feet off the ground and you couldnt see throught it at all. It was kinda wierd but fun when someone would duck down and pop up across the room. lol

Anyways, I would say just look up some reviews on specific models and find out which ones are better for what you want them for and go from there. Like anything that goes with lighting or "theatrics" most of the time, the more expensive it is, the better product you will get.

Right so ive got a smoke machine now just need to buy the fluid....is it best to have a high density fluid or low? I want the smoke to remain on the dance floor as long as possible so it will probs be high density wont it? and how long does the fluid last in the machine?

Cheers

No idea, sorry. A Google search would probably be your best bet on that.
