this has become such a classic debate now with opinionated parties for vinyl, for cd, and for both… i have now come to the point that if the tunes come out and people dance then so be it… vinyl or CD… BUT im still solidly against Virtual DJ lol

personally: nothing beats the sound of a vinyl!!!.... UNLESS your at the studio
and i think it takes skill to play on vinyl rather than cds - i dont know about other countries but here in australia alot of djs these days dont even know how to read a vinyl. if they had a few vinyls to play with watch there timing go out the window! see with cdj's you have a bpm counter to beat match with and a remain time setting to know when to mix out. with vinyl your just looking at the vinyl and using your trained ear to beat match. personally i think cds have had a massive impact on all music genre's... notice more people want to become djs cause they see how easy it is to mix with cds?... like i dont mind young or new talent stepping up into the industry but you see they dont have to search and save for music like we (or whoever is from the old golden days) did. vinyls didnt come free! and they aren't lite either!
i find it very unfair for the producers that lose thousands of $$$ a year due to people downloading there music and not supporting the producer by going out to the records store to purchase the vinyl nor make the effort and goto 3beat digital to pay like $3 for a song. its rediculous! producers, record labels and record stores are closing because of this. to me - you only have the passion for the music if you support the producer =)
but then again i see it from everyone elses point of view that it is easy and more convinient to download music of applications such as limewire, soulseek etc.
even though i still think its wrong. which is why the music piracy groups need to do something about it before there are no good producers left!
