Opinion on Vinyl vrs CD's

this is something so small, but, peeps who use laptops to mix wont know what it feels like to flick through records in your box. sounds a bit weird but they flick through there hard drive with there mouse… woop! lol

Thats one thing all cd and record dj's should unite against lol laptop isnt djing and never will be Thumbsdown

going through your cd collection is like flinging thru your records. having said that, dumping all your tracks on a few MP3 disks is just as bad as digital djing Naughty

I've got a gig coming up end of the month and the place has 2 CDJ 800's and a Technics 1210....So i've got cd's and vinyl although will probably end up having to use mostly cd's...has anyone ever experienced skipping with cd's in a club/bar before??? im totally dreading it :signlol: i don't feel safe at all! At least on vinyl it doesn't sound that bad but on cd's..well... Shocked

Get ready for lot's of skipping, I would feel a lot safer with 2 Technic's & 1 CDJ, or better still insist on 2 Technic's and feel the vinyl!!!

See that would freak me out too.I mean its bad enough listening to dj mixes and you hear the skips but i personaly wouldnt know where to look if i was mixing and the cd started to skip. I'm reasonably good on the decks and can talk enough crap to get out of most predicaments but a cd skipping in the middle of a set would put me to shame Thumbsdown
