Hey, I am about to tell you a pathetic story and i need some help here. Im 15 and yesterday I purchased my first record. And then this morning I bought my first turntable. I've wanted to DJ for a long time right now I'm just goofin' around with a Denon table I picked up at the local record shop. What I need is someone to tell me:
- What Turntables I Should Get for starting out
- What Mixer I should get
- Why when i try to scratch my needle moves and goes to a different part of the track.
- What are a few cool scratching Techs? How do I perform them?
Hey, thanx for lookin' at my story and answering my Q's! |

| I'm a noob myself. Just got into DJing in the beginning of April. And I'm 23! I bought myself a whole slew of records over at Virgin Mega Store before I got myself some turntables. When I did get myself some, I got myself the Stanton Skratch Pak 2, which comes with 2 turntables, a mixer, some headphones, cables, couple of Stanton logo slipmats, and a DJ tape. This is the best value pack out in the market too. Paid like $500 for it brand new. Retails for $700. So I got a good deal. And it works nicely. |

| if you've no real history with vinyl, or a huge record collection, surely you're better off getting into CD decks???? |

CD or even digital. I do everything digitally these days, but then I don't go out and about either. I just DJ from home, in my spare time, for fun.
WHen I worked in a club back like.....eight years ago I used CD's though. Not very hard to do since they now make CD players with pitch controls. _________________ DJ Digital Gem (formerly DJGemini69) |

to start with all decks have diffrent pitch control some are slow and others are fast,
i started out with sound lab's and a standard sound lab mixer all bought second hand there ok but you need to get a set of tecnics some time in the future. you cant beet tecnics, pricy but worth it and as long as you look after them they will last a long time.
any mixers will do, but you need one with, high, mid, low and gain control.
forget about scratching for the moment. lern your beats first!!!
sit and listen to all your vinyl you buy, then think about mixing 2 choons dont worry if it sounds alful we have all been there take both choons back and do it again, it's all about PRACTICE!!!!
check out this site for tips on mixing.
