Lessons? Why give someone money to teach you their way of djing when you can learn yourself and dj your own way and style Spot on

Havnt a clue about cd decks myself, will always stick to vinyl Worship

Yea i would start off on vinyl decks to get the hang of it then you can move to cd decks etc. best thing to do is to buy a DJ book from beginner to advance. They really help a lot. Or you could even look on internet.

All i started off on was:

2 turntables
1 mixer
Headphones
Stereo player (or you could use an amp)
Phono to jack 3.5mm lead (for the stereo to mixer)
Vinyl

I would advise starting off cheap then you can buy more expensive equipment once you get into it. Good luck

just to add on, with the deck choice, it depends on the style you mix. i own cd/mp3's and the only reason i got them is to do mates parties etc, and most of them involve hip hop or top 40 crap or something else. but id use vinyl for dance. looks better too Cool

i pritty much taught myself. its probably better to teach yourself so you can come across you own lil tricks on how to mix. grab advice on basic stuff like beat matching and all that and create that first step. theres no real right way to mix, like TigerLand said, dj your own way and style. Spot on

Also dont be like most and just stick to the same style in a mix, there's too many straight Trance,House,Hardstyle ect mixes. Mix the mixes up a bit and add a style or 2 in them to give yourself a wider audience Spot on

As long as you have basic knowledge of song structure, your better off learning yourself. To develop your own style, thats what makes DJ's unique in there own right.

You can start with CDJ's, I did, and bought my 1st set of Vinyl TT's only just recently.

I started with CDJ's just out of convenience - I could burn music to CD and mix it straight away, as opposed to purchasing records, People may argue this makes you spoilt for choice, and you dont spend enough time practicing mixing each song.

If you get into it.. Remember the 1st 4-8 months will be the hardest, when mastering how to beatmatch, get over this task and you'll be loving it!

But DJ'in is a skill we are all constantly learning at.

Good Luck
