Well, I have been accumulating bits and pieces for about 6 months now....The mother board I had initially purchased is now out of date, of course! LOL A grand later....I should hopefully have it all up and running in about two weeks. I have thousands of songs to get loaded and I have to wait until I get paid again to buy the video card but here's the specs of what I have custom built. No package systems here baby!
MOBO: Abit IL9 Pro socket 775
Chip set: Intel 945 / ICH7
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo
Memory: board can take up to 4 gigs 240 pin DDR2 667, I am using 2 right now
Audio: onboard 7.1 CH HD Audio CODEC
video: NONE ON BOARD which has me pissed right now!
Serial ATA: 4X SATA
OS: Windows XP
Case: Scorpio
Case specs: 7 ATX rear panel expansion slots, 10 drive bays, 4 USB ports, 5 internal fans, HD responsive LED front panel light display, custom side panel with fan and LED light, super silent SATA ATX power supply, front and rear audio jacks, temperature responsive cooling fans.
I am running a 500 gig HD on this as well.
So here's the grand total I have spent.
Mother board/processor combo deal: $237
2 gigs of RAM: $158
17 inch flat panel monitor $169 (has $50 mail in rebate) so cost is $119
keyboard: $15
case: $85
VIDEO CARD: $70 (and that's the cheapest they have in PCI Express)
CD burner: $70
500 gig HD: $350
ATA to SATA converter: $30
A Drive - had one on hand LOL
GRAND TOTAL: $1,104 total out of pocket......The shows to come.....PRICELESS!
So cross your fingers for me that I run in to no more problems because this whole process has been a NIGHTMARE. First, the brand new case had a bad power supply, then I found that the HD I bought 2 months ago is an ATA and this board will only hook up to SATA so I had to go buy a converter. Now....There's no on board video at all and I have to wait another week to get paid again to get the damn video card. Hopefully everything else goes smoothly from here on out! When I am up and running, I am going to be kick ass and taking names later! Smile
You can all drool now.......
