Just started my new job today.....working all day in a music studio recreating and bootlegging tracks for karaoki cd's in the indian market. Full time hours. It feels so weired being paid to produce music in a normal job type of situation. It also includes other stuff too like recording artists and stuff and also audio/visual installation, setting up at venues, but the main thing is the studio production. dance

Not been working for about 6 months and was about to continue my previous one as a development co-ordinator for some community based organisation who are involved in taking over a pub and getting stuff happening in there with bands and young people etc. That would have put an end to me djing as it would have been evenings, and as if by a sign to say "stay in the music", my mate comes to me on the day im about to meet my boss to sort out hours and stuff, and offers me full time work to do this in the studio. Im well happy at the moment. :headphone:

Hahahah yeah I know they are crap. It's all cheesy midified bollox. Whats funny is that im adding stuff to tracks, entirely new instruments and the like over some other tracks. Atm its a case of bootlegging to get the ball rolling rly. Aiming at getting 10 out a week and thats a lot.

Cheers Ry,

It's specially indian music im working with right now. I just finished doing a proper re-creation track today which was a lot more intense than the bootleg type ones. It's going alright though so far, just can be pretty intense in the studio at times working every day. Ive only just started so I can imagine hating the studio in a few months lol. Nah I have to put up with this to keep close to what I want to do though outside of this job.

Im not ready to commit to a job which is gonna pretty much keep me tied to coz of either the salary or the heiarachy im at within the company.

I have throught about stuff like the probhation service which links closer to my background working with young offenders (except adults), but again I wanna be close to the source I wanna be which is music and have freedom to do what i need to do.

Right now this is something thats just started for me, and the people im working with are currently developing their bussinesses meaning the better they do, the better I can do, but its just early days atm. Its an AVM company meaning that its all about setting up gigs and stuff too, so not just the studio work.

ah ok. i think when i started a similar line of work to what your doing, even now i want to run these gigs. i started as basically a stage hand and then moved up the ranks to mixing and programming. thats the direction i took but unfortunently due to lack of work i couldnt rely on it souley as a set income. but all the best wishes to you mate. hopefully you are able to follow the path you so desire Spot on
