1.First of hows things, hows life treating you these days?
Life's going alright at this very moment, I guess I really can't complain, now can I?
2.How long into the scene did you get Decks/Turntables?
I got my equipment before I got into the scene to be honest. I now need new speakers cus they are blown like a bitch.
3.What were your first Decks/Turntables?
My first dj decks were Numark, I don't exactly know what style of decks they were, I just remember them being numark.
4.What was the first dance record you bought?
oh man... this was so along ago, I can't exactly remember. It was either around 98/99 when I bought my very first dance record. To many, it's not that long ago especially for those who started out in like the 80's or even before than. But 10 years, yes that's long to me.
5.I'm sure theres many but name 2 nights in your memory that stand out and will stay with you forever, either as a Dj/P.A or Clubber?
I remember my very first night I dj'ed, it was at this dead bar but I started attracting customers for this bar on the very first night I dj'ed but the customers would only come on nights I would dj on, mainly cus I guess I'm a good dj. Yes I know saying that may sound cocky but whatever. I don't care if I sound cocky one bit.
6.Whats the best and worst thing about being a Dj?
the best thing is probably either seeing and getting the sexy girls' numbers and seeing how little they would where (if there was no dress code) or just throwing on a good night for all the clubbers. I guess getting everyone pumped up would be better than any girl cus as everyone knows having fun is so much better but at the of the night you'd most likely go home with a girl or 2 anyway.
7.Whats your take on the whole *Oldskool* nights and events these days, good or bad thing for the future?
I believe they are good cus they bring back memories for most people, depending on how much they were drunk back in the day. But I say dont go too far back depending on the age of your crowd. I say 10 years from now do not go back any further than 98/2000. Just keep the "old skool" nights within reason, you know? Just don't go too far back and people don't recognize the music but than again if you go far back, you could introduce the crowd to new music they haven't ever heard and may enjoy it so let me retract my statement, go back as far as you want but don't do that constantly.
8.Whats that one tune you'll always add to a set?
Any Bob Marley - Sun Is Shining (Remix)
9.Whats the best club youv ever been to and why?
Don't have a favorite. As long as the girls are sexy and the music is pumpin', that's all that matters to me.
10.Whats the maddest thing youv ever done after a night out?
I don't really know, sorry.
11.Dj wise, whos your hero? And who sticks out for you these days?
Armand Van Helden, my favorite dj all time.
12.If you could remix one tune past or present, what would it be?
Dr. Dre Feat. Eminem - Forgot about Dre
I think that tune in a house format would just be absolutely amazing.
13.What in your opinon makes a good tune?
Pumpin bass and bangin' drum-lines
14.Of all the events these days and past events, where would your dream Dj slot be at?
Ibiza most likely.
15.Favourite curse word?
**ck Ass... my best friend and I always call each other that.
And Finaly
16.Your in the middle of a Mix/Performance and a guy keeps reaching out to shake your hand, your nice about it and happily shake his hand.He tries it again and hits the deck arm and the needle leaves the record...What do you do?
jump outta the booth and start beating him and when I'm done doing that call for a bouncer and have him thrown out of the club. I will never shake a dudes hand at a club while I'm on the decks. but a chick, thats a whole different story. I would ask her to stay after the event is over and take her home with me. |

11.Dj wise, whos your hero? And who sticks out for you these days?
Porter is a very humble dj, sasha can put some syck build ups together, prydz's production is off the hook, danny howells is smoooooth!
12.If you could remix one tune past or present, what would it be?
anything underworld (crocodile:)?)
13.What in your opinon makes a good tune?
the groove, melodies, a catchy hook..
14.Of all the events these days and past events, where would your dream Dj slot be at?
WEMF or Ibiza

16.Your in the middle of a Mix/Performance and a guy keeps reaching out to shake your hand, your nice about it and happily shake his hand.He tries it again and hits the deck arm and the needle leaves the record...What do you do?
Nothing because there is no record on it... all cdjs! hahah.. but if he pressed "stop" ... probably get a mad look on my face, tell him to get away from the equipment, press play and carry on. _________________ aleksandra - female house dj

1As a DJ I used to play at a bar in West London called the Ra Bar everyone in the bar danced all night long it had an amazing buzz, but one night stands out when a girl stripped off her top right in front of me and then spent the night bouncing away in front of me, even though my mixing went AWOL everyone kept dancing.

1.First of hows things, hows life treating you these days?
Not too bad recently,
2.How long into the scene did you get Decks/Turntables?
I'll have been about 18/19. Because I'd been blowing my money on Guitars and stuff I could only afford a wonky pair of belt drives
3.What were your first Decks/Turntables?
See above, Soundlabs I think
4.What was the first dance record you bought?
Horse "Careful" (Brothers In Rhythm Remix). One sided promo too, It's always been a special track for me.
5.I'm sure theres many but name 2 nights in your memory that stand out and will stay with you forever, either as a Dj/P.A or Clubber?
Gatecrasher Millenium Eve (Great night, with an even better carry on at a mates house)
Some Random Friends Party (Djing in a bar that was just packed with people we knew for a mates birthday. Not really a big scale thing, but I got away with playing exactly what I wanted)
6.Whats the best and worst thing about being a Dj?
Best - when you get it just right and the place goes off. It doesn't matter whether there's 10 people on the floor or 10,000 when you know that there's a connection with the crowd it doesn't get any better.
Worst - Staying sober(ish). I've never been able to mix after more than a couple of beers, and self control was never my strong point.
7.Whats your take on the whole *Oldskool* nights and events these days, good or bad thing for the future?
There's nothing wrong with a bit of nostalgia, but I'd prefer to hear the odd disco or classic house track into a normal set than a night devoted to old tracks.
8.Whats that one tune you'll always add to a set?
I'll try and sneak Urban Soul "Show Me" (Def Club Mix) into any set I do (usually at the end)
9.Whats the best club youv ever been to and why?
Up Yer Ronson @ Leeds Pleasure Rooms - My first real club night, 3 floors of nutters with Sasha playing to top it off.
10.Whats the maddest thing youv ever done after a night out?
It's tough to narrow down to one thing, but going to the 24 hour in drag (and getting served by the same chap who served me earlier in the evening before the night out) is probably up there.
11.Dj wise, whos your hero? And who sticks out for you these days?
Francois K is god as far as I'm concerned. When it comes to current DJ's who I'm into it'll have to be Prins Thomas or Aeroplane
12.If you could remix one tune past or present, what would it be?
BT - "Lovin You More" or Robert Owens "I'll Be Your Friend"
13.What in your opinon makes a good tune?
I don't think that there's any real secret ingredient. Perhaps a hint of drama or tension.
14.Of all the events these days and past events, where would your dream Dj slot be at?
The Space Terrace (before they stuck a roof on it) starting at about 7 or 8 and handing over to Lawler (Steve not Kate) just about an hour after sunset.
15.Favourite curse word?
CuntFuckle
And Finaly
16.Your in the middle of a Mix/Performance and a guy keeps reaching out to shake your hand, your nice about it and happily shake his hand.He tries it again and hits the deck arm and the needle leaves the record...What do you do?
Take his hand again, hold it up like I'm a referee and he's just one the fight, when everyone's finished cheering at us chuck the next track on. (If no one cheers, then I climb into my escape pod) _________________ whentheworldismineyourdeathwillbequickandpainless |
