Do you agree with the fact that clubbers have to stop complaining that DJs/laptop artists are boring to watch?
I think that It was never meant to be entertaining the crowd like that.
DJs are there to put music on, so if some people are more concerned about the show than the music itself, they are simply in the wrong place.
Give us your thoughts ...!!! _________________ Download promo dj sets |

the problem is that people don't undestand the meaning of 'dj'. when you play the music from hifi at the house party and only choose tracks - you are 'dj'. when you make your own music - you are 'dj'. etc.
there are many 'djs' that in clubs don't mix music at all. they just play one track after another. they also shout through the microphone to the crowd asking whether they enjoy the party or encouraging people to scream etc.
so these people are there for general entertainment, to meet friends etc, the music doesn't matter so much.
there are also 'real' djs, who mix tracks live. they rather focus on mixing technique and creating the vibe that makes the crowd dancing until one drops (if that is the word). there people come not only to party but also for the music. these are the parties I attend to. unluckily in my city people like me are in definite minority When I go to such a party I need a dj to play well so I couldn't resist dancing and won't be able to sit long for a rest.
However there are many djs and they have different characters. Some are so excited with the music they play that they dance too! They encourage crowd to party with them! Then there are djs who just check the crowd whether it likes the music or not and they 'stay calm'. On the opposite site are djs who focus only on the music they play, they are so absorbed with mixing that they don't interact with the crowd. Personally I prefer first kind of djs, I can have an eye contact and we are jumping together! But this is just the second factor. The first is definitely the music. |

I have to say that i dont get these djs that look like they are possessed while mixing,i dont know about any of you but when im mixing im concentrating on the beats being spot on and that they mix smoothly while a bit of sweat on my forehead needs wiped.
When theres a great break or nice vocal then fair enough i'll sing away or raise my hands behind my head and feel the euphoria of that tune at that moment but its definetly not all the time that im dancing around like a tit There's such a thing called overkill and a LOT of dj's do it. When the dj is having a great night like us the clubber then we can see the smile on his face or he'll shake our hands etc, i'm happy with that _________________ Back In Business! |

| when I dj, I dont interact. Im only there to play music and make sure the crowd is having a good time and I can tell if they are having a good time by the way they are dancing and shit. |

Its good to interract I feel. A good old clap in the air to the beat when you have dropped into a sick sounding beatless break can work. Depends on the crowd but i love getting energetic and playing with the mix cutting it in and out. _________________

priceless
I personally hate request for greetings, for example when dj yells through the microphone "greetings from Kate to her friends from her university" or "greetings to Mark from his mate, he's having birthday today" |

I think you've gotta enjoy it - or else whats the point - and if you do enjoy it then show it
You don't have to juggle fire and spin plates on your nose but don't just stand there with your head down
P.S. anyone seen the Tiesto Elements Of Life Copenhagen DVD - damn good _________________ Love house till I die |

yeah you've got to interact , i don't understand dj's who stand there looking bored or trying to look solid, whats the fuckin point, you need to be enjoying yourself and giving people another dimension you know, of course i don't mean jumping around looking like a knob but raising a hand , smiling and dancing a touch is all part of it for me man
I enjoy what i do _________________ MANCHESTER DRUM AND BASS SOULJAH !
