howdie!
Have been making HUNDREDS of DnB drum loops, often trying to get them in amen style, but i cant figure it out how to do!
Can anyone tell me the magic technique to get them amen-ish!? i'vw got the shaking hihatt loop fine, and figured out that you need some serious ride distortion/compression.
Dont know the way for you guys to help me, but maybe post a soundclip, where youve done the amen in slow bpm? Even possible to send me a .rns file?? Would be sweeeet!
I'm doing the loops in reasons Redrum drum computer...
Dont't want Dr. Rex to help me out with the drums to much! _________________ over and out from sweden |

Well I hate to dissapoint you.....
The reason that the Amen was such a strong lasting break, is becuase of the groove. That groove, which cannot be programmed to the same standard. If your looking for that same feel, try looking for some live funky breaks, with some good ride activity, speeding them up to around 160 ish. Good breaks like that, are about live groove, that is really down to the way they have been played. _________________ Less is More |

ok...
Thats sort of what i thought at the beginning to, but since alot of artists just playing around with the amens with such a variation i thought they had to create them from the really first drum sound themselfs. But appearently they're just going crazy with the looping.
Anyway, you can can mess around with the amen-rex:s pretty good in Reason to! (just moving the notes around a bit in the sequencer)
Thanx Rendall! _________________ over and out from sweden |
