I usually have my high at 12 o'clock, mid at 12 o'clock and low at 1 or 2 o'clock....basically thats the way i've been taught but i'd like to change it. I've tried it other ways but not really sure on what sounds best Think anyone have any ideas on getting the best sound?

I'm the same as you mate although when looking up info for the mixer i noticed on a few videos that the settings were in the middle so i just followed those.
I like the mix nice and clear but i have had a complaint or 2 about the sound not totaly right but fck those people Spot on

DJ's that have the bass or treble too high....thats very annoying Evil or Very Mad

Yeah surely this depends on the material in question you are playing and also on the system itself too speakerwise. I had to push the top end on this system I set up today coz the speakers were so shite that they had very little top end.

I tend to play about with the bass during each mix, taking out the bass of the track im about to mix in only bringing it in as I mix over and then dropping the bass of the other song.

Kinda on the levels subject but after years of using the volume fades as volume its a bit hard getting used to leaving those alone and using the proper volume knobs at the top of the mixer Confused
Sometimes im turning the volumes down on the faders and not realizing the volume is still high Wall

I have mine slightly past 12

Volume wise I use both the faders and the gain knobs - more control that way.

Yeah the upfaders mate, i used the mixer that way my past few mixers but with the djm700 i dont think i can and i still have the reflex of using the volume upfades which is sh!t lol

Maybe there's a way or using them and just turning the volume knobs at the top up full as i like to use the upfaders for the main volume Confused

Its a brilliant mixer mate, still learning more about it every day with the sampler and effects but definetly a different world for me mixer wise to what ive ever had before.

depnds where in the mix it is. generally what you said though - depends on the setup and the mixer and most importantly the tune/genre!
