|
|
alright all,
i'm looking to purchase a flat screen tv but with so much choice and little knowledge on the subject im finding it difficult to choose one.
They’re sleek, elegant and modern-looking, but – like everything else these days -- flat screen television sets do have many features that can confuse the hell out of you. I need to do some research prior to purchasing a flat screen TV.
What definite benefits and drawbacks would you guys' advise me to look out for? |

if it will last you 5yrs! most dont even get close to that. umm otherwise, colour and picture quality. if your looking for a inbuilt digital tuner, makes sure it has 1080pi HD otherwise you wont be able to use the HD channels that are avaliable. ummm and dont go dodgie i guess. make sure u shop around. if i may, just to help you out a lil more, have a look at the pioneer TV's. we have one and there brilliant! so maybe take that into consideration. and always look at the bigger brands like LG, Samsung etc _________________ "Yeh, I'm a club head. Cheers BalistiK
yeah the Pioneer tvs are amazing, i was looking at a PDP4280XD 42TV at £1.799 but my budget is £1350. I aware of the 1080pi and the digi channels those features i will definitely go for. The TV will be used mainly for movies ( Sky HD ) and PS3 gaming, so i'll be ensuring i go for multiple HDMI inputs & a tv that has a high refresh rate preferably 120Hz. Couple of areas i'm uncertain about is choice between LCD or plasma & what TV offers best contrast - not sure! |

i've heard that to repair screen burn you just leave the tv on white noise for a few hours. This is suposed to clean the screen of any burns. |

but your using a PS3 which is a HD gaming console with 1080 something something so that should be alright to play on a 1080dpi HD plasma screen _________________ "Yeh, I'm a club head. What of it? I sometimes use the radio stations on SKY, your Radio 5 Live,Radio Ulster,Talk Sport etc and thankfully my tv comes with a mode where the screen goes to black and white and moves side to side. If you leave any box or line on the screen after a while it marks so if listening to radio you need to get those radio boxes on the screen hidden.
Also on the subject of radio i just noticed on SKY you can record radio stations lol handy for dance mixes on radio stations _________________ What Give's You The Impression I'm Your Blud? |

The more i research this subject the more i lean towards choosing an LCD over a plasma. I've read that plasma screens are fragile and must be shipped standing up also very power hungry because of the high voltages necessary to activate the actual plasma elements. |

yeh but as a personal note.. i dont like LCD's because with any fast movement you get motion blur. maybe ask if the LCD's out now have that problem sorted out _________________ "Yeh, I'm a club head.
