still waiting ?
today I took some time to listen to your mix.
I totally dig it! mix technique is excellent and also like the tracks you selected. don't know the records, only thomas penton, wich is also in my collection. the various styles mixed is nice , that's what I find important.
it's easy to play a set in the same kind of style. getting out of that means orginality.
how long are you dj-ing?

hey..thanks for your feedback...I am glad you enjoyed it. I just play what records I like..regardless of their age/chart positions...most of them are European as I find they really understand Trance!!
I have been DJing about 3 years ..but i haven't played out in any clubs/pubs yet! I am puting my mixes out there now to get some feedback to see if I am ready for clubs!!
So far I have had good feedback.....Which is cool as I try to put energy into my mixing!
What about yourself?...where are you at in your DJ life? |

HI essence.
at the moment, I'm push'ng myself to get some bookings.
This last year I didn't mix much outside of my hobbit-studio, apart from the occasional birthday of friends in pub/club.
Been handling records for years, spinning at various parties and a few clubs and afters around Antwerp.
nowadays I mix with software and laptop, different medium but more interaction and creativity in the mix. Still like to play with Technics and vinyl.
Apart from dj-ing, I'm learning how to produce music and want to integrate them in the djmix.
With so many quality dj out there, it's hard to get some bookings. But in my opinion don't give up. you're on the right track.
Do you know www.topjox ? they're based in Kent. I've aplied with a demomix and I've been selected to be part of their list.(nice for my selfconfidence) Maybe a good investment to get noticed ? (they charge quit some money )
Is it possible to listen to another mix of your work? The first half of Driftwood is for me personally the best part.

Hi Didier,
Wow..we are pretty similar really.I am also into music production and using my tunes for mixing. I have some of my older tunes on my web site ( http://www.driftwoodcompany.co.uk/page14.html )...and some newer ones that I am working on featuring my own vocals! These tunes are mostly trance orientated.
I had a look at the site you were talking about..they do seem one of the better DJ Promotor sites..and I have contacted one of their DJ's before!! Let me know how you get on with them...and more importantly if you get any gigs from your hard earned cash!!
I will get another mix together and post it soon. I did one last night ,but it is house music...I expect you would prefer trance?!! I tried your mix link,but it just said downloading..and never did!
Nice one for posting the tips on getting gigs...checkin out!!  |

Hey ...still no luck with your mix link....it goes to the right download page...says downloading...then done...but no mix! I have tried several times now..as I am interested to see what you have done! Maybe try a yousendit link for me?
There are lots of great beaches for powerkiting over here...lucky me!! You like the sport yourself? I am not great at fancy tricks...I just love to fly up and down the beach as fast as I can!!lol |

strange that you can't download. if you press the above CLICK you should arrive at the page with my tracklist and some technical info about the mix.
beneath is a link for streaming audio, it says download Here.
click right and choose from the dropdown menu : save link as , then your downloading, maybe this explanation is obvious for you , I've tested the link via this post and overhere it works. on my pc it opens in quicktime.
i'll send the link thru p.m.. also I have yousendit , will see how this works.
actually I already send you a p.m. , you didn't notice?
a good friend of my practice kiting and i've been with him on some beach in Marroco and in Zeeland(netherlands). I like the idea but did'nt try it out allready.
My sports are biking, hiking and dancing : )

Kiting is great adrennaline, relaxing and I get to thrash out excess energy! You should give it a go...once you can control the kite..you will be away!
