In not just my opinion most powerful sequencing software package on the market. Why?
Logic has the most user friendly interface around. Not only that, but it parameters are fully user defined. This means you can edit how logic looks and works to suit your production requirements. You wouldn't believe how much time is wasted preparing your arrange and mixer to suit your needs.
Emagic developed the worldwide success ES1. Included in logic this is an extremely powerful analogue synth that is more than capable of giving you those fresh top ends and grinding smooth subs. Of course, later on ES2 was born and this is another story. I swear by it. For effects, sweeps, synths, atmosphere, leads, bass.... The list goes on. ES2 can provide you with 16-note polyphony per instrument, with 3 oscillators per voice. Digital and analogue waveforms can be used as sound sources (Ring modulation etc....)
Logic is renowned for its reliability. When making music, reliability is a must. There is nothing worse than returning to an unfinished project to find a crashed computer and scuttled work. The German development team 'Emagic' have done their absolute best to protect Logic from that kind of scenario. Now that Logic (Logic ver 6.0) is only developed for the Macintosh, this link is even stronger. As we all should know, Mac's are much stronger and reliable for media type applications, so now that Logic is written entirely for the Mac, it is pretty much bullet proof.
The main point with sequencing software is work with what you’re most comfortable with. I’m really eating my own words as when people try and sway me to other packages, I really argue this one ahead. So, I'm not going to try and 'win' Logic some new users. However, in the next few days I will post tutorials (starting - Getting to Grips) on how to use this monster. The thing that puts most people off is the complex feel. Especially if you are used to a more basic program (i.e. - Fruityloops/Reason). Even the Cubase heads, keep and open mind. You may find this very useful.
I understand that Emagic's Logic Audio 5.0 is not the cheapest of software. Even that it is now discontinued you may still pay around £300. Cracked software is to be used at your discretion and not to be abused. _________________ Less is More |

They are both professional sequencing packages. Apparently, Cubase started out with less intention of it being for professional studios but that's irrelevent now. Cubase has just been completely re-designed (Cubase SL/SX). I think this new design actually looks more like Logic. So what does that say about Logic's design?
Logic still looks practically the same since version's 4 (now on version 6)
Logic is just that. Logical. The Track Mixer is very easy to navigate and use as is the arrange screen. I just find this program makes sense a lot in a way of layout and operation.
Neither is ahead. It is all about personal preferance. Keep your eyes peeled for my next post introducing Logic to new users. Hope I can help you out with that.

Few months ago I've started to use Logic.I found it more complicated than other programs.
So I can say that I am s newbie in Logic...
I want to ask is there any way to play wav files or I need to use some vst/sampler to do that?
I mean something like an Sampler in Reason,to put in some wav file and make some lines out of it? |

All you need to do is to drag the WAV/AIFF/MP3 you want into Logic directly, the file will be converted into audio and then you can edit as you see fit, or, if you have Logic Audio Platinum and above, you can drag them directly into the EXS24 library... _________________ Mmmm... |
