Soul Groove Records introduces the new RuffNeck project "It's That East Street Beat", featuring the amazing voice of the late Joanne Yavahn Thomas (1967-2003). Joanne was one third of the legendary club/house music trio Jomanda who brought you club classics like Make My Body Rock & Gotta Love For You, in the mid 1990s. This project marks the triumphant return of Dwayne â€Spen†Richardson, Derek-AJenkins, Stephen B. Wilson and Shaheer Williams of Backroom Productions, producers of all Jomanda classics including the 1996 House music anthem, "Everybody Be Somebody" performed by Ruffneck with vocals by Yavahn. This project is dedicated to "The Memory of Yavahn!â€
The first single from the new Soul Groove record label, founded by Backroom’s Shaheer Williams, features a re-construction of the 1985 underground classic, "It’s That East Street Beat", originally performed by Chocolette and mixed by the legendary DJ, Timmy Regisford. The Bonus CD added to this package includes a remix of "The Music To My Ears (Di-Ah Di-Ah)", originally found on the 1999 RuffNeck LP "New Life" which was only released in Japan. E Street Beat and "The Music To My Ears (Di-Ah Di-Ah)" will be included on the upcoming RuffNeck featuring Yavahn LP, "New Life The Rebirth", due for release in March of 2004! |
