Does anyone play any instruments?
apart from MIDI keyboard or Scratching on decks ( if you can count that as an instrument)
and how do you use them in your tune productions ( if you do) ?

its a yes from me. i played the piano for many years also to the drums. still have a bang at the drums but still play keys! i have played a few percussion instruments thru school just for fun times… i use synthesisers to make my productions. i dont really use midi controllers or VST's. gave it a shot once but i prefer the old school way with all the external stuff. been at it since i was 6yrs old playin the piano a lil but mainly the drums… i was crashin away at the kits from the tender age of 4 (from what i can remember) and started piano at 7/8 properly. theres literally music in my blood with my dad being a pritty well known musician here in aus and some places in the US during the 80's. its weird how 2 completly different styles have bonded between me and him. he was a 80' rocker and um underground electronic…

go to a music shop, grab a book and check it out. Lesson books are great! obveously grab a beginner book and if you have a keyboard or something use that and after a few months (depending how fast you can pick things up) you'll have the basics down.

Also check out Youtube, if you can learn how to take apart a Technics turntable to fit a new pitch then its gotta be filled with videos of people learning how to play certain instruments

| Ive tried youtube. it just doesnt do the job for me. I cant learn by watchin a video. I need to do hands on activities to actually learn somethin. and baslistik, Ill look for a beginners book. thanks. |

| used to play piano. I gave up - you need to play 5 hours a day to be real profesionalist. I couldn't play piano long 'cause during the play I got ideas for my own tracks, and I couldn't focus on the play. and I wanted to listen to some great music! |

I play the trumpet.....not quite sure how it could be incorporated into EDM.....maybe as a sample
Come to think of it "Laid Bare" by Judge Jules has a trumpet part before it goes electro
