This Monday, March 7th Jerome Sydenham, creator of Ibadan Records,
dj's a Deep Space set all night!
Born and raised in Ibadan, Nigeria to an English father and Jamaican mother,
Jerome’s work today is largely influenced by the cultural diversity of
his upbringing and has echoes of a musical history that spans
indigenous African and contemporary western music.
His productions have always been at the cutting edge of dance music with past hits including
“See Line Woman†featuring Nina Simone (co-produced by Kerri Chandler), Je Ka Jo
(co-produced by Joe Claussell) and the Balearic remix classic “Central Reservationâ€
by Beth Orton. His numerous co-productions with Dennis Ferrer are
nothing less than genre defining. His work is also featured on
DEEP SPACE NYC VOL. 1 (Wave Music/Deep Space Media)

As a DJ he has performed worldwide from Respect is Burning in Paris to
the Afrobeat Festival in the US to Precious Hall and Club Yellow in Japan.

Deep Space 1st anniversary party designer, visual artist and warm friend Richard Alvarez has recently suffered a devastating loss from a fire started in the grocery store underneath his apartment. Luckily, he managed to get himself and his beloved dog Rufus out unharmed. However, he has lost his home, and most of his artwork
and belongings.
Sunday, March 6th friends of Richard's are having an informal benefit @ Cielo: DANNY KRIVIT, STEVE TRAVOLTA and LEE will dj from 6pm to Midnight. The minimum suggested donation is $10. ALL the money collected at the door will be given to Richard.
