when your buying vinyl and going into record shops you start talking to people wether it's the staff or other people in the shop, but if i remember right it was talked about once that you never copyed another dj's mix if it was something special.
the problem i got is the first gig i played i had a instrumental and droped a accapella on top but asked a dj friend first who is on the radio if it sound ok now this person has copyed my idea using the same accapella but a diffrent instrumental.
my worrys now is people are gonna think i have copyed that dj.
would like to know peoples thoughts on this subject?? |

Don't worry bout what people think. Since there is an accapella version of that particular song, there is bound to be all sorts of remixes out there mixed by who knows how many DJ's.
Man I remember just a couple of weeks ago, I had me some Beastie Boys (accapella) mixed with some trance. |

get used to it
when someone has something good someone else is bound to try and recreate it exactly or differently
its how djs learn new skils
after all soo many djs including myself use accapellas in sets and drop them over all sorts of stuff - its nto copying its knowing it works and twisting it in ur own way - after all no one wud mix if it wasnt for copying someone in the first place _________________ To book me please contact missxs@missxs.co.uk
