Hi everyone,

I am very new to the DJ seen, my only limited experience being previously practicing on my friends Citronic Belt-Drive turntables and an equally shocking mixer!!! (I can just picture all of the more experienced DJ's turning away in disgust - lol)

I have since been wanting to get into DJ'ing myself and have been looking into the various CD decks available. My reasons for this being mainly due to the fact that CD's/MP3's work out alot cheaper than vinyl and secondly the space they would save.

Whilst I appreciate in an ideal world (funds permitting) the ultimate purchase would have to be the Pioneer CDJ1000's, unfortunately these are a little out of my price range. Being that I am completely new to all of this could anyone suggest alternative CD decks which provide most of if not all of the functionality of the Pioneers? Alternatively can people advise me accordingly if they would consider this to be the wrong route to go down (i.e. would vinyl or MP3 be a better alternative to start out with)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
