I found a great deal for some cdj-1000mk3's but i am still stuck on whether or not to invest in them or a new laptop & serato? I would have to get new turntables(vinyl) either way cause mine are the starter shitty kind. Any comments or suggestions are appreciated

ive been thu it all so on my personal oppinion id use cds over any virtual dj program. virtual dj makes it a hell of a lot easier to store tunes and find them but it doesnt feel the same as cds or even vinyl

Plus if someone walks up and asks what tune you just played, how are you supposed to hold the record up to show them?

I mean seriously people.

what a complete stupid thing to say! in all my days clubbing i have never seen anyone go up to a dj and ask " please show me the vinyl" and if they do they they must dj in the local pub.

i rather use cds than software, because of the feel and all that and also if your computer or soft crashes your set gets fucked.

and mac also crashes, ask sasha, he goes with 2 mac and an external drive in case one mac crashes, unplug and plug the backup mac.

cds all the way, cheaper and don't crash (unless your cds are scratched or the cdjs are fucked) Laughing

Use whatever you want to use. They all have their pluses and minuses.

for me a bit of both but far more CDjs now, just for the weight and the amount you can carry - a box of 100 vinyl weighs a ton but you could carry a few cd cases with hundreds more tunes at half the weight.

i still like vinyl and i have alot of it but with the download sites its hard to compete (just imo)

cheers, UA
