Question Confused Hello all. Question? Just started DJing and loving it and getting the hang of it...BUT, i get very frustrated at times, mainly when I think I have the beat matched and then all of a sudden the BPM's seem to speed up at the end of the song. I have noticed that some records (well some that I have so far) like Signum and Katana for example, have a steady BPM through the song but then it speeds up at the end where I'm trying to bring in the next song which then means my pitch is off. Is this just me not beatmatching right or are many songs (trance/house) made like that to get faster at the end. I even sometimes think i notice the BPM being slower at the begining of songs. Like i said, I'll have the two songs beatmatched through the whole song of the one playing and then it is off pitch at the end........frustrating(for now) but i'm sure i'll get the hang of it. Any responses or tips are greatly appreciated.

i actually have that same problem with a few tracks.. the thing i did tho is just adjust the tempo as the song is playing. its not the best thing to do tho, especially wen you dont have pitch lock.

i'll definently be reading on this thread question tho because i did ask the same question to some other people and they said i was just freakin out

Well, they're brand new decks but cheap beginner ones though. Belt Driven Stanton Str8 T50's. I know they're not great at all but just wanted something to start out on. I can beat match just about perfect on many of the records i have and don't have a problem with the song that is playing changing tempo at the end and can bring the next track in no problem. But some of the trance i have seems to speed up during the outro. For instance i'll have Signum-Supersonic playing and Katana's-Another Wave beatmatched throughout the song ready to bring it in. I'll start bringing it in while still making sure the pitch is fine tuned. The beats will be matching until "Supersonic" gets to its last couple or few bars and I swear gets faster and everything gets out of sync. I guess it could be the cheap tables though. Or may be its just the way they make the track??? I guess that's what they mean when they say to know the music you spin.

I have experienced the same thing on some of my house records, on technics 1210s. I think it just might be a poor quality press on vinyl.

Push or let go theory??? Its nothing to do with that! I have had a record playing on one deck, perfectly beatmatched and it has sped up after about a minute in! This isn't something that happens when cueing the record. I am sure it has more to do with badly pressed vinyl, given that it has only happened on two records in my collection.

But, some records push off and some are for letting go.Get those 2 records out and try just pushing them off and if they go out then cue up again and just let go of the record...bet the problem fixes dance

Reason how i know it works cuz i recently got a few of these, cue'd them in but they either sped up or slowed down. When tried the other way the record played perfectly right through Spot on
