I'm looking for a program which will just keep the lyrics from a song and get rid of the beat and vice versa can anyone help me out?

That is impossible. Unless you have the acoppella by itself, you will not ever get the lyrics by themselves. Sorry.

Thats not quite correct, it is possible to cancel out everything apart from the vocals in some songs using the phase cancellation method (google it) but its easier said than done because you need the exact same copy of all the instruments for the part you want to cancel out for it to work and that could be hard if not impossible on a well produced track. Another option is a freeware plugin called knockout (google that too) that can extract the mono signal from a track is can work quite well on breakdowns but it doesnt extract them 100% and you also end up with some nasty phasing on the vocals.

Sure I guess that would work if you want it to sound like shit. And if you had all the samples from the track in order to cancel them out and single out the vox, then you should have the ability and resources to find the vox on their own (accapella).

phase cancellation method leaves you with some very sh*tty sounding vocals..

..i'm not sure if i can post links to acapella sites, but try acapellas4u.co.uk ...they have thousands of songs acapella's on there.

give it a go.
