PENDULUM [ Breakbeat Kaos | Renegade Hardware ] - UK
The initial result of the collaboration between Anscenic, Speed and Elhornet was the seminal 'Vault', released this year on the highly respected 31 Records UK. 'Vault' went on to become the biggest anthems of 2003, this was confirmed when the track received the much sought after Knowledge Magazine award for 'Best single of 2003' The award cements PENDULUM in the drum&bass history books. PENDULUM followed ‘Vault’ with a series of brilliant tracks including 'Trail of Sevens' (Renegade Hardware), 'Spiral' and 'Ulterior Motive' (Uprising Records), 'Back to You' and 'Still Grey' (Timeless Recordings), and a remix of 'Tonite' by Concord Dawn (Funktion Recordings).
2005 will see PENDULUM release their debut artist LP on BREAKBEAT KAOS, a project that the UK’s mainstream magazines are already calling ‘the one to watch’ (Mixmag 2004) Prior to this their next release on BreakBeat Kaos BBK004, a remix of the Digital Nation classic ‘Submarines’; has already been tipped as the anthem of the 2004 Winter Music Conference in Miami. In the brief twelve months that the PENDULUM collaboration has been formed; the group have turned the drum&bass world on its head, whilst opening the eyes and ears of thousands to their Australian beats.
SUB FOCUS [ Ram Records | Frequency ] - UK
With several tracks to his name all made in the space of the last twelve months 2004 has been a massive year for Nick aka Sub Focus: the year has seen him breakthrough in unprecedented fashion armed with the likes of the technically astounding "Acid Test", the simple yet devastatingly effective "Strobe", the lively "Get on Up" and the altoghether awesome "X-Ray". In a matter of months, he has gone from being one of many wannabe producers to become a permanent fixture of the award winning Ram Records family. Artists like Sub Focus are what "Best Breakthrough Producer" awards are made for.
MC VERSE [ Crunch | Outbreak ] - UK
Verse joins a select crop of owners, an MC with a label as he works towards the first Crunch release. In between touring and travelling, Verse has found sufficient studio time to write alongside DKay, BCUK, Keaton, Bad Company and join the Fifth Element crew deep with Loxy & Ink. Postponed due to distribution issues that collective are far from buried we’re assured. Verse releases have rounded out across Renegade Hardware and Outbreak; he duly returns to productions for his personal ends, Crunch Recs.
